Experience:

Salesforce Enterprise Security Engineering is seeking an experienced software engineer to help design, build, and manage a self-service application administration platform (SSAAP). SSAAP is a highly scalable, fault-tolerant distributed system enabling enterprise customers to self-service onboard their applications to Identity and Access Management (IAM) services in compliance with Enterprise Security standards. The team builds identity and access services that unify IT networks, cloud platforms, and internal infrastructure to ensure every Salesforce engineer can work securely, regardless of environment.

This is a high-impact, high-visibility role with a long runway focused on IAM onboarding and supporting enterprise customers in onboarding their users and applications to Enterprise Security.

This role sits within the broader Enterprise Security Technology org, which has existed for over 10 years and includes engineering, product management, business analysis, and operations teams.

• Build and ship high-quality, production-grade software using modern engineering practices, with AI as a core part of development workflows to deliver secure, optimized, and high-quality code.
• Design and orchestrate complex systems where AI agents integrate into human workflows, driving efficiency and innovation at scale.
• Contribute to a shared system context that documents system designs, constraints, and standards to enable AI to operate reliably.
• Critically evaluate code (human or AI-generated) for correctness, quality, security, and performance.
• Own the full development lifecycle for IAM solutions, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, maintenance, and continuous improvement of user experience.
• Collaborate with core product teams, IAM service teams, and cross-functional partners to refine requirements, ensure compliance, and deliver intuitive, high-quality solutions.
• Develop and integrate features across backend, frontend, and agentic components, providing technical guidance and troubleshooting across platforms.
• Review, triage, and prioritize requests, implementing enhancements based on user needs and timelines.
• Create technical documentation and enablement materials for developers, customers, and internal teams.
• Mentor and support peers and junior engineers through knowledge sharing and best practices, especially around modern development and user experience.
• Stay current with emerging AI and agentic technologies and drive innovation within the IAM domain and user experience.

• 3+ years of experience with modern web-based IAM technologies (e.g., authentication/SAML and SSO, Okta), identity governance and access management (e.g., SailPoint), and Privileged Access Management (PAM).
• 6+ years of full-stack development experience with Go, Java, and Python, including API design, cloud services, containers, Kubernetes, microservices, and experience integrating AI/agentic capabilities into UX and backend systems.
• Strong understanding of AWS cloud infrastructure and services, including containers, Kubernetes, and microservices architecture.
• High proficiency with JSON, XML, and RESTful development, including API design that supports AI-driven or agentic workflows.
• Hands-on experience with secure coding, defensive programming, and modern CI/CD workflows using Git and Jenkins, including shell scripting for pipeline jobs.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills with attention to detail.
• Proactive, positive attitude with the ability to work in agile/scrum environments and deliver reliable engineering solutions.
