The Experience

The Salesforce Enterprise Security Engineering team is seeking an experienced software engineer to design, build, and manage a self-service application administration platform (SSAAP). SSAAP is a scalable, fault-tolerant distributed system enabling enterprise customers to self-service onboard their applications to Identity and Access Management services in compliance with Enterprise Security standards. We are building identity and access services that unify IT networks, cloud platforms, and internal infrastructure to ensure Salesforce engineers can work securely in any environment.

This is a full stack software development role with a track record of building modern services and applications following SDLC best practices and secure development principles. The team has been in existence for over 10 years and includes engineers, product management, business analysis, and operations collaborating to support onboarding for enterprise customers.

This is a high-impact, high-visibility role with a long runway—building and expanding a platform that accelerates M&A integration and delivers cost savings across the enterprise. You will work with engineering leads, architects, and cross-functional stakeholders to shape the future of IAM onboarding s role is open to candidates based in Seattle, WA;
San Francisco, CA; or New York, NY.

What You ll Actually Be Doing
  • Build and ship high-quality, production-grade software using modern engineering practices, with AI as a core part of development workflow and secure, optimized code.
  • Design and orchestrate complex systems where AI agents integrate into human workflows to drive efficiency at scale.
  • Contribute to a shared system context that documents designs, constraints, and standards for reliable AI operation.
  • Critically evaluate code (human or AI-generated) for correctness, quality, security, and performance.
  • Own the full development lifecycle for IAM solutions, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, maintenance, and user-experience improvements.
  • Collaborate across core product teams, IAM service teams, and cross-functional partners to refine requirements, ensure compliance, and deliver intuitive, high-quality solutions.
  • Develop and integrate backend, frontend, and agentic components where applicable, providing technical guidance across platforms.
  • Review, triage, and prioritize incoming requests, implementing enhancements based on user needs and business objectives.
  • Create technical documentation and enablement materials to support developers, customers, and internal teams.
  • Mentor and support peers and junior engineers through knowledge sharing and best practices in modern development and user experience.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, including AI and agentic advancements, and drive innovation within the IAM domain and user experience.
You're Our Person If...
  • 3+ years of experience with modern web-based IAM technologies (authentication, SSO, Okta, authorization, identity governance and access management, PAM).
  • 6+ years of full-stack development experience with Go, Java, and Python; strong proficiency in API design, cloud services, containers, Kubernetes, microservices, and integrating AI into user experiences and backend systems.
  • Strong understanding of AWS cloud infrastructure and services, including containers and microservices.
  • High proficiency with JSON, XML, and RESTful development practices, including APIs that support AI-driven workflows.
  • Hands-on experience with secure coding, defensive programming, and CI/CD using Git and Jenkins, including shell scripting for pipeline jobs.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills with attention to detail.
