Overview

Early consideration for Summer 2027 internship roles. The application window is open until July 24th, 2026 and will close earlier if all available projects are full. Applicants are encouraged to apply early because applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.

Students in all academic years who are pursuing a Master’s degree program in Computer Science or a related field. Participation requires being located in the United States for the duration of the internship.

• Pursuing a Master’s degree or post‑secondary training with a focus on software development or related technical fields.
• Experience in software development and coding in two or more general‑purpose programming languages (e.g., C, C++, Java, JavaScript, Python).
• Experience with data structures or algorithms gained from academics or professional work.

• Currently attending a degree program in the US and available to work full‑time for 12 weeks outside of university term time.
• Penultimate academic year or returning to a degree program after completion of the internship.
• Experience programming in three or more of the following languages: C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Kotlin, Go, Python, Type Script.
• Experience with AI/ML, infrastructure, web application development, Unix/Linux environments, mobile development, distributed systems, network or security software development.

Join us for a unique 12‑14 week paid internship that offers personal and professional development, an executive speaker series, and community building. As a Software Engineering or Site‑Reliability Engineering intern, you will work on complex computer science solutions and develop scalable, distributed software systems. Your assignment will be determined by our recruitment team based on your resume and program focus.

Design, test, deploy, and maintain software solutions while working on a specific project critical to Google’s needs. You will address new problems and grow alongside the team.

Build, extend, and scale code to keep systems reliable and performant. You will work on troubleshooting, maintenance, monitoring, alerting, and automation infrastructure to ensure business‑critical services remain operational.

• Sick time: 40 hours per year (increased to 69 hours per year for Seattle), including 5 discretionary sick days per instance
• Holidays: 13 paid days per year

The US base salary range for this full‑time position is $98,000 – $131,000. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Compensation details below the base salary include only salary and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits.

• Develop scripts to automate routine tasks.
• Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution that effectively solves problems.
• Apply knowledge gained in computer science courses to real‑world problems.
• Create and support a team, including working with peers, managers, and cross‑functional teams.
