The Amazon Open Search Service team designs, develops, and operates software that allows customers to index, search, and analyze documents at scale in a secure, responsive, and reliable environment. We are looking for a skilled developer to build the next generation of search, observability, and log analytics customer experiences on Open Search Dashboards (the managed UI for Open Search Service).

• Design, develop, and support a world-class search and analytics platform serving individuals and businesses of all sizes
• Produce high-quality code that is robust, efficient, and maintainable
• Work at the core of Open Search and contribute to the open-source project
• Work on challenging problems in areas such as data visualization, log analytics, observability pipelines, query optimization, security analytics, and AI-assisted insights
• Continually challenge what exists and explore what should be changed to best meet evolving customer needs
• Possess knowledge in large-scale distributed system design and engineering best practices
• Participate in setting a vision and objectives for Open Search UI in alignment with customer needs and market opportunities
• Drive algorithm and architecture design, execute, and deliver results
• Build the future of search, observability, and log analytics in the cloud

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
