Software Engineer II

• Execute scoped feature or model delivery through collaborative engineering teams
• Own implementation, iteration, testing, and support for assigned services, APIs, user interfaces, or ML model components
• Participate in discovery for small- to medium-sized projects with product, UX, and business teams
• Write clean, efficient, and reliable code
• Drive the full software development lifecycle, including CI/CD deployments, automated testing, observability, monitoring, and maintenance
• Build scripts to automate repetitive tasks and implement telemetry features
• Integrate AI agents and ML components using internal and external APIs
• Use GenAI tools such as Git Hub Copilot to enhance development velocity and innovation
• Translate requirements into technical designs and evaluate trade-offs for scalable, secure, and maintainable systems
• Convert high-level designs into detailed designs using mock screens, pseudocode, and functional logic
• Provide guidance to small groups of engineers, including offshore associates
• Engage stakeholders to define complex business or user problems and translate pain points into technical requirements
• Define metrics to measure solution success
• Conduct complex maintenance procedures and monitor application performance
• Ensure project milestones and timelines through program reporting and logging tools
• Take ownership of deliverables and resolve issues to drive projects to completion
• Collaborate across teams and communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Seek opportunities to improve processes, tools, and products
• Provide expert advice and guidance on best practices
• Build stakeholder relationships and implement business solutions
• Monitor progress and results, capitalize on improvement opportunities, and adapt to organizational changes
• Model compliance with company policies, values, ethics, and integrity standards
• Support inclusive, customer/member-focused, innovative, and continuously improving ways of working

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area; or 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area
• Experience in software engineering or a related area, if using Option 2
• Proficiency in JavaScript, Type Script, Python, Java, Rust, Dart, and/or C++
• Knowledge of CI/CD deployments, automated testing, observability, monitoring, and maintenance
• Experience building automation scripts and implementing telemetry features
• Ability to integrate AI agents and ML components using internal and external APIs
• Experience or knowledge using GenAI tools such as Git Hub Copilot
• Knowledge of object-oriented programming principles
• Ability to create technical and detailed designs
• Knowledge of Software Development, Continuous Integration, Software Architecture, Cloud Engineering, Data Engineering, Platform Design And Development, Version Control, Software Testing, Agile Methodology, and Software Design
• Ability to work with WCAG 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility best practices is preferred

Demonstrates expertise in software engineering, including proficiency in multiple programming languages and a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle. Capable of integrating AI and ML components, while ensuring compliance with accessibility standards and delivering scalable, maintainable solutions.
