STEP Program Leadership- Serve as the school’s STEP Coordinator, overseeing and directing the STEP Program
- Assemble and lead STEP Teams in response to student needs, including:
Parents/guardians, Classroom teachers, Administrators, Other support personnel - Student participation when appropriate
- Coordinate and facilitate STEP meetings
- Ensure proper documentation and compliance with STEP processes
- Gather and analyze student data from multiple sources, including:
- Academic records and report cards
- Standardized assessments
- Work samples
- Behavioral and discipline records
- Teacher and parent input
- Psycho-educational or medical reports (when applicable)
- Guide the STEP Team in developing and monitoring individualized support plans
- Track progress and ensure follow-through on interventions
- Support teachers in implementing strategies for students with:
Learning differences, Attention and focus challenges, Memory and processing needs - Model instructional strategies within classrooms (push‑in support)
- Provide guidance on differentiation and classroom interventions
- Collaborate regularly with grade‑level teams (TK–8)
- Provide targeted support through:
Small group instruction, Push‑in and pull‑out intervention - Focus on:
Reading comprehension, Writing development, Foundational math skills, Support both academic and basic social‑emotional needs of students
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with parents regarding:
Student needs, Support plans, Progress and next steps - Build a collaborative relationship with families rooted in trust and support
- Maintain organized STEP records and systems
- Provide regular updates to the principal on student progress and program effectiveness
- Help ensure a consistent, school wide approach to supporting diverse learners
- Collaborate with administration to strengthen intervention systems and services
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Special Education, or related field (required)
- Teaching credential or background in special education/intervention (preferred)
- Experience working with diverse learners, intervention programs, or RTI models
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and families
- Strong understanding of instructional strategies for struggling learners
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
