Valley Christian Preschool is seeking an Assistant Teacher to perform a wide variety of duties to support lead teachers and students. VCPS Assistant Teachers serve as early Christian role models to children in their care by aiding lead teachers in the delivery of Christ centered lessons and learning opportunities.

At VCPS, our students come to school with a wide array of abilities, interests, and backgrounds. It is the job of our staff to engage each individual student and develop a relationship that not only supports learning, but also provides mentorship and wisdom in their Christian faith.

• Assist lead teacher with a selected age group of children to ensure learning goals are being met
• Instruct and monitor students in the use and care of equipment, toys, and materials to prevent injuries and damage
• Reinforce learning concepts presented by the lead teacher
• Nurture, guide, and encourage students for healthy growth
• Supervise students in classrooms, halls, and play yards and report any injuries or behavioral issues
• Utilize office machines (i.e. copier, stapler, scissors, computer, etc.) to prepare instructional material for use by students

• A love for working with preschool age students
• High School diploma required; 12 ECE units preferred
• Experience working with preschool aged children preferred
• Must be able to work between 7:00 a.m.
  
  - 3:00 p.m.
• Profess an active relationship with Jesus
• Active membership/attendance at a Protestant Christian church (preferably CRC or RCA denomination) is required
• Supports the Mission and Doctrinal Statement of Valley Christian Schools

• This position involves prolonged sitting, standing, and walking
• Occasional bending, stooping, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds
• Constant seeing, hearing, and talking to monitor and work with the children
