Journeyperson Electrician
T&J Heating, A/C and Plumbing is a full-service heating, air conditioning, electrical and plumbing organization, providing new installation, repairs and ongoing maintenance services to commercial and residential clients throughout New England.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced journeyperson electrician to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, excellent communication and problem solving skills, and a commitment to safety. You will gain hands on experience in various electrical tasks, including installation, repair and maintenance of electrical systems.
Position Summary:
Responsible for overseeing and executing electrical installations, service, and troubleshooting for residential HVAC systems. This role requires advanced electrical knowledge, full understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC), and the ability to work independently or lead small crews. Ensures all electrical components of HVAC projects are installed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable codes and company standards. Low voltage experience and the ability to read and interpret electrical schematics is a must.
Essential Functions:
- Install, connect, and test wiring, circuit breakers, panels, disconnects, and low-voltage HVAC control systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications to ensure proper layout and configuration of HVAC-related electrical systems.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues in residential HVAC systems, identifying faults and performing effective repairs.
- Ensure compliance with NEC, local building codes, and safety regulations on all job sites.
- Lead and supervise apprentices and junior electricians, delegating tasks and providing on-the-job training.
- Conduct final inspections and functional tests of completed work to ensure systems operate as intended.
Other Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with HVAC technicians, project managers, and inspectors to support smooth project delivery.
