Fund Accountant

Our client is seeking a Fund Accountant / Fund Administrator with 2–3 years of experience supporting private equity, investment funds, or alternative investment vehicles. This person will be responsible for day-to-day fund accounting activities, financial reporting, investor reporting, and supporting the overall administration of multiple funds.

• Perform daily and monthly fund accounting activities, including journal entries, cash activity, and account reconciliations.
• Assist with NAV calculations and review fund-level financial activity for accuracy.
• Prepare and maintain financial statements, capital account statements, and supporting schedules.
• Calculate and process management fees, carried interest, and other fund-related expenses.
• Track capital calls, distributions, investor contributions, and investment activity.
• Assist with quarterly and annual financial reporting packages.
• Prepare investor statements and support investor reporting requirements.
• Reconcile bank, investment, and general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies.
• Work closely with investment teams, investors, auditors, tax advisors, and third-party service providers.
• Support the annual audit and tax processes by preparing schedules and providing requested documentation.
• Maintain accurate fund records and ensure transactions are properly documented and recorded.
• Assist with ad hoc financial analysis, reporting, and fund-related projects.

• 2–3+ years of experience in fund accounting, fund administration, or accounting within private equity, asset management, hedge funds, or another alternative investment environment.
• Strong understanding of general accounting principles and financial statements.
• Experience with NAV calculations, capital activity, investor reporting, or fund financial reporting preferred.
• Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and basic financial modeling.
• Experience working with accounting or fund administration systems.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.

Ideal candidates may come from a fund administrator, private equity firm, hedge fund, investment management company, or public accounting firm with exposure to alternative investments.
