Summary
is recruiting for the position of Temporary Extra-Help Coordinator. This position will join an existing team of administrative professionals within the Facilities Office, supporting ongoing day-to-day operations as workload increases with the County's Capital Facilities plan.
Performs specialized tasks related to program or administrative support balancing team and individual responsibilities with minimal supervision within scope of established guidelines. Performs program or administrative support tasks related to the area of assignment. Prioritizes, plans and arranges own work sequence. Drafts, types, copies, and distributes paperwork with little or no direction.
Essential Job Duties:
- Provides administrative support to management, maintaining confidentiality as directed. Utilizes strong interpersonal and customer service skills to maintain strong relationships with departmental and inter-departmental administrative groups.
- Prepares, monitors, edits, updates, reconciles and maintains grants, inter-local agreements and contracts, as assigned.
- Participates with the management team in planning systems and analysis, program evaluation, budget preparations, cost estimating and problem-solving activities.
- Coordinates new information and updates division's public website. Serves as liaison to Whatcom County departments and divisions.
- Processes accounts payable and receivable in compliance with financial policies and procedures. Prepares and processes department payroll, purchase requisitions, payment vouchers, billings and other diverse general office work.
Hours of Work:
- Monday - Friday 8 AM - 5 PM
- Full-time for up to three months; additional part-time months possible.
Qualifications
- Requires an Associates degree and 2 years of progressively responsible experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel required.
- Two years performing bookkeeping, accounting, preparing budget information, and monitoring budgets is preferred.
