Job Summary
Whatcom County Human Resources is hiring a temporary extra‑help employee to provide office support including front counter reception, filing, and other administrative support for HR professionals.
Additional DutiesAdditional duties may include accounts payable, payroll processing, onboarding new hire tasks, processing incoming documents, scanning documents to Laserfiche, data entry, and other routine office‑related projects.
Work HoursAnticipated hours: up to 20 hours per week, flexible schedule, weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Required QualificationsRequires a high school diploma or GED,
AND three years of progressively responsible office, bookkeeping, clerical and/or secretarial experience INCLUDING customer reception, computer data entry and document preparation, filing and recordkeeping.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Professional, customer‑service demeanor.
- Ability to operate basic office technology (Microsoft Word, copiers, phone systems, etc.).
- Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality of sensitive information.
At its sole discretion Whatcom County may consider combinations of education, experience, certifications and training in lieu of specifically required qualifications contained herein.
