About the Position
The Parking Guide is responsible for enforcing parking regulations at Western Washington University in accordance with the Washington Administrative Code 516. Parking Guides provide services and resources to the Western community and assist members through the Motorist Assistance Program. They work independently, conduct active patrolling, educate the parking community, provide customer service by listening to and answering questions, support campus events, and perform administrative duties.
Responsibilities- Enforce parking regulations and provide customer service to the campus parking community.
- Conduct active community patrolling and educate patrons.
- Assist with the Motorist Assistance Program.
- Support campus events and perform administrative duties as needed.
- High school diploma.
- Positive attitude and prior customer service experience.
- Professional conduct in confrontational situations.
- Understanding of regulations with equity and justice.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to use hardware and software systems for monitoring.
- Observation and reporting of incidents.
- Standing and walking for long periods, operating a motor vehicle for long periods.
- Work outside in all weather conditions and lift 30 pounds.
- Wear uniform and maintain professional appearance.
- Valid Washington state driver’s license with at least five years of continuous valid license and a clean driving record.
- Experience enforcing parking regulations.
- Background in customer service and handling difficult situations.
- Ability to work independently.
- Professional driving experience and basic vehicle maintenance.
- Familiarity with WWU campus, maps, and directions.
All employees must comply with our Immunization policies, including proof of rubeola measles immunity within 60 days of hire, and must pass background investigations including fingerprinting and Washington State Patrol background checks.
Salary$3,864 - $4,678 per month, depending on qualifications and experience.
