Job Description — Interventional Cardiologist (Coronary & Peripheral) Peace Arch Cardio Vascular | Bellingham, WA
Takeaway:
Peace Arch Cardiovascular seeks a board certified Interventional Cardiologist skilled in both coronary and peripheral vascular interventions, providing a 50/50 split between clinic and hospital-based care. The role blends high-acuity procedural work with longitudinal outpatient management, mirroring the balanced coronary/peripheral practice models described in comparable interventional cardiology postings.
Peace Arch Cardiovascular is recruiting a full-time Interventional Cardiologist to join a growing, multidisciplinary cardiovascular group serving the Bellingham region. The ideal candidate is proficient in:
- Diagnostic cardiac catheterization
- Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI)
- Peripheral vascular interventions and endovascular procedures
- Intravascular imaging such as IVUS and OCT
- Comprehensive inpatient and outpatient cardiovascular consultation
- Coronary interventions — diagnostic angiography, PCI, complex lesion management (bifurcation, CTO).
- Peripheral vascular procedures — arterial and venous endovascular therapy for PAD, CLI, venous obstruction, and pelvic congestion (aligned with typical peripheral practice scopes).
- Clinic-based cardiovascular care — longitudinal management of CAD, PAD, arrhythmias, heart failure, and preventive cardiology.
- Hospital-based care — inpatient consults, acute cardiac care, cath lab procedures, and collaborative management with hospital teams.
- Interpretation of cardiovascular imaging — echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, stress testing.
- Post-procedural care — monitoring recovery, adjusting treatment plans, ensuring safe transitions of care.
- Quality and safety participation — adherence to institutional protocols, contribution to QA programs.
- Collaborative practice — work closely with referring physicians, surgeons, and advanced practice providers.
- Optional academic involvement — teaching residents or fellows if affiliated programs exist (common in interventional cardiology roles).
- MD/DO with fellowship training in Interventional Cardiology
- Board certification in Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology
- Demonstrated proficiency in coronary and peripheral interventions
- Strong clinical judgment and procedural skill
- Commitment to patient-centered care and multidisciplinary collaboration
- Eligibility for Washington State medical licensure
- 50% Clinic
- Outpatient cardiology visits
- Diagnostic follow-up
- Preventive and longitudinal care
- 50% Hospital
- Cath lab procedures
- Inpatient consults
- Acute cardiac care
- Shared call rotation (modeled on similar practices with 4–5 cardiologists)
- Competitive base salary + productivity incentives
- Sign-on bonus and relocation support
- Comprehensive benefits (health, retirement, CME)
