We're Hiring:
Early Learning Substitute Teachers at the Y!

Love working with kids? Need a flexible schedule? Join our team at the Y as a Substitute Teacher in our Early Learning programs!

We’re looking for caring, energetic, and reliable people who are ready to jump in and support our classrooms when our regular teachers need a day off. Whether you're studying education, returning to the workforce, or just have a passion for helping little ones learn and grow — this could be a great fit!

What You'll Do:

  • Step in to support our teachers and kiddos in early learning classrooms (infant through preschool)

  • Help with playtime, learning activities, meals, and naps

  • Create a fun, safe, and nurturing environment

  • Work with a team that’s all about building strong kids and strong communities

What You Bring:

  • A love for children and a positive attitude

  • Flexibility and a willingness to jump in where needed

  • Experience in childcare or early education is awesome, but not required — we provide training!

  • Must meet basic licensing requirements (we’ll help you through that process if needed)

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred.
  • Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities.
  • Previous experience with diverse populations. Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds.
  • Current CPR (Adult, Infant & Child) and First Aid, AED certifications.
  • Complete Praesidium Child Abuse prevention training within 15 days of hire.
  • STARS 30 Hour Childcare Basic Training (Must be completed within 3 months of hire date)
  • Must have or be in the process of obtaining the following:
    • Negative TB Test
    • HIV/Bloodborne Pathogen training
    • Safe Sleep
    • MERIT
    • Food Handlers Card
    • Cleared Portable Background Check from MERIT
    • MMR Immunization Record

    8. Willingness to obtain the ECE initial certificate or equivalent (approximately 12 credits).
