Design – Non‑Tenure Track Faculty Vacancy Pool
Western Washington University, a public institution of higher education located in Bellingham, Washington, invites applications for a temporary, part‑time faculty position in Design. About the Position
In anticipation of possible openings throughout the academic year and summer sessions, applications are accepted continuously for temporary, non‑tenure track faculty positions on a part‑time basis with occasional opportunities for temporary, full‑time appointments. Positions may become available at any time and are typically filled on a quarterly basis.

Position Responsibilities
- Instruction in various courses assigned by the Department Chair.
Required Qualifications
- BA, BFA, or equivalent experience in the Design field.
- Ability to teach courses in any of the following disciplines: fundamentals of graphic design, branding and design strategy, typography, drawing for design, motion design, packaging design, three‑dimensional graphic design, web design, visual design, interactive design, user experience, illustration, design history, book arts, design production or publication design.
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills and professionalism.
- Commitment to working with diverse students and staff, including cultivating learning environments that are equitable and inclusive of students with diverse social identities and backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Successful teaching experience.
- MFA in Design.
- Extensive industry experience.
Conditions of Employment
