We accept full-time seasonal and full-time year-round guide applications between November 1st and January 31 of each year. Most new full-time seasonal and full-time year-round guides participate in a 3-week guide training period, which usually takes place in early May. Occasionally, we have open positions in the Desert Southwest for rock climbing guides and in the Northwest for AIARE Avalanche Instructors.
- Ability to work well with people
- Ability to articulate ideas and concepts as well as clearly demonstrate specific skills
- Ability to lead steep ice comfortably and in good form (strongly preferred)
- Ability to lead traditional rock comfortably at a minimum level of 5.9 (5.10 or higher strongly preferred)
- Minimum of five Grade III climbs
- Familiarity with a full range of protective systems
- Wilderness First Responder Certification or equivalent
- CPR Certification
- Ability to evaluate subjective and objective hazards
- Significant experience in the mountains
- AMGA Single Pitch Instructor Certification or Higher
- Ideal candidates will have completed a program in the AMGA Alpine discipline. However, if you have not, we will still accept your application for review.
