Assistant or Associate Professor of Marketing

Position Overview

Assistant or Associate Professor of Marketing (full‑time, tenure‑track) with an anticipated start date of September 2027 at Western Washington University. Responsibilities include teaching courses such as Market Research, Consumer Behavior, Principles of Marketing and advanced electives at the undergraduate or MBA level. Scholarship expectations include publishing in high‑tier marketing journals. Additional duties involve contributing to student and program success through service commensurate with rank.

• Teach undergraduate and MBA courses in marketing.
• Publish research in high‑tier, peer‑reviewed marketing journals.
• Engage in service activities that support student and program success.

• Ph.D. or ABD in Marketing, or Business/Management with a concentration in Marketing, from an AACSB‑accredited institution. If ABD, all degree requirements must be completed by June 15th of the first year of employment.
• Evidence of, or clear potential for, publication in top‑tier, peer‑reviewed marketing journals.
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching, or strong evidence of teaching effectiveness, at the college level.
• Ability to effectively teach and engage an increasingly diverse student population.
• Strong communication, professionalism, and organizational skills.
• For an Associate Professor appointment, demonstrated significant research and evidence of successful teaching commensurate with promotion standards.

• Professional experience in the marketing field.
• Experience publishing in top‑tier, peer‑reviewed marketing journals.
• Experience creating a student‑centered learning environment.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute to a supportive, inclusive academic community aligned with the department mission of inclusive excellence.

All employees must comply with our immunization policies, including Proof of Rubeola (Measles) immunity within 60 days of hire. Salary ranges are $130,000‑$157,000 for Assistant Professors and $143,000‑$172,000 for Associate Professors. Relocation assistance may be available per university guidelines. Salary and start‑up funds are to be determined upon offer.
