Position Title

Journalism - Non‑Tenure Track Faculty Vacancy Pool

About the Position

Lecturers will teach sections of existing courses in journalism, public relations, or visual journalism on a part‑time basis, with occasional full‑time opportunities. Lecturers should be exemplary teachers, current in their discipline, and engage students through discussion, writing, and analysis. They are expected to provide prompt feedback, hold regular office hours, and participate in course evaluations.

Required Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and professional experience
  • Significant professional experience in journalism, public relations, or visual journalism
  • Demonstrated potential for successful teaching
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse students and staff and commitment to equitable, inclusive learning environments
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous teaching experience
  • PhD or ABD in a relevant field
Conditions of Employment

All employees must comply with the university’s immunization policies, including proof of rubeola (measles) immunity within 60 days of hire. Documentation of employment eligibility is required.

Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
