Opportunity

Anchor QEA is seeking a full‑time junior engineer to support habitat restoration planning, analysis, design, and construction projects throughout the Pacific Northwest. The applicant will have 0 to 2 years of experience working on river and stream restoration and/or fish passage projects, including field assessments, data collection and analysis, hydraulic modeling, fluvial geomorphology, fish passage and restoration design, and construction. An understanding of and experience with fluvial, coastal, and estuarine systems is required.

Responsibilities
  • Perform hydrologic, hydraulic, and geomorphic analyses to support habitat restoration and fish passage projects.
  • Participate in field data collection; complete complex analyses and calculations under supervision.
  • Prepare design plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates for restoration projects under supervision.
  • Develop project work and reports under supervision.
  • Prepare construction planning and observation documentation under supervision.
  • Provide on‑site construction observation and field engineering.
Qualifications
  • Degree in stream restoration, ecological, or hydraulic engineering.
  • Proficiency in hydrologic analysis for rivers and streams.
  • Proficiency in 1D and 2D hydrodynamic modeling software (HEC‑RAS 1D/2D, SRH‑2D).
  • Experience with technical report writing.
  • Construction observation and field engineering experience.
  • Experience with topographic or bathymetric field surveying.
  • Knowledge of Washington State's environmental planning and regulatory environment and fisheries biology of the Pacific Northwest.

Salary and Compensation
  • Salary Range: $65,100–$73,000
  • Annual bonus
  • Other potential bonus types:
