Data Consultant 1 – Transportation Services Department

The Data Consultant 1 is a temporary position responsible for collating customer service data from across the unit and organizing that information into a searchable database for departmental use. The database will allow employees and customer service representatives to find answers to questions posed by customers, visitors, vendors, and other stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

• Evaluating customer service data files for all departmental services.
• Extracting, reviewing, and compiling data into a narrative searchable by topic and keyword.
• Reviewing departmental websites for thoroughness and accuracy, and recommending modifications and improvements.
• Developing and adding "how-to" videos to educate patrons on parking and transportation standards across campus.
• Participating in other data‑driven projects as available.

Required qualifications:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Completed college‑level coursework in computer science, basic statistics, and associated math.
• Demonstrated experience compiling and evaluating data and report writing.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and One Note.
• Initiative and ability to lead projects from start to completion.
• Proficiency with video recording, editing, and content creation.

Preferred qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, or related field.
• Demonstrated experience of completed work in this field.

$22.73 – $30.41 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
