Schedule:

8am-5pm but may change to a 6am start depending on the need.

Location:

Bellingham WA 98225. Job Type: local contract. Contract Length: 3 Months + Extension Pay Range: $18/hr to $21/hr pay offered is based on experience, expertise, credentialing, and education.

Job Summary

Responsible for front-office operations at Patient Service Centers (PSC), including customer service, patient registration, data entry, insurance billing and payments, issue resolution, and compliance with HIPAA regulations. May provide support at multiple locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet and assist patients in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Assist patients with kiosk sign-in and verify information for accuracy.
  • Contact clients to obtain required patient orders.
  • Respond to patient and customer inquiries and complaints using established protocols.
  • Perform clerical duties including filing, faxing, mail preparation, and data entry.
  • Answer telephone calls professionally using established company protocols.
  • Maintain compliance with departmental policies, procedures, and HIPAA requirements.
  • Assist with insurance billing, payments, and related front-office processes.
  • Maintain adequate supplies and assist with stocking as needed.
  • Complete required training and assigned special projects.
  • Follow attendance, safety, quality, and compliance guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as required to meet customer and departmental needs.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year of customer service experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with keyboarding, data entry, and PC applications.
  • Medical terminology knowledge is helpful but not required.
  • Previous front-office, receptionist, clerical, or healthcare customer service experience is preferred.
Skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.
  • Ability to follow established procedures and exercise sound judgment.
  • Flexible and available to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and varying schedules based on staffing needs.
Physical & Mental Requirements
  • Prolonged standing and sitting.
  • Walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting, balancing, pushing, and pulling.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and carry up to 15 pounds for several minutes at a time.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and maintain constant visual attention to detail.
