Chesapeake Search Partners is partnering with an established landscape organization in their search for an HR Generalist. Our client is seeking a hands‑on HR professional who is comfortable supporting employees and leadership across a variety of HR functions. Talent acquisition will be a major focus of the role, along with benefits administration and other day‑to‑day HR responsibilities. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional to join a growing organization and make an impact across the HR function.
The role is fully onsite in Upper Marlboro, MD, with hours of 7:00 AM–3:30 PM.
Responsibilities:
- Support day‑to‑day HR operations and provide general HR support to employees and managers
- Assist with full‑cycle recruiting, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and coordinating the hiring process
- Partner with hiring managers to support staffing and hiring needs
- Support onboarding and new hire processes
- Assist with employee benefits administration and serve as a resource for employee questions
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR documentation
- Assist with HR‑related reporting, compliance, and administrative processes
- Support employee relations and other general HR matters as needed
- Help implement and maintain HR policies, procedures, and initiatives
- Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and overall efficiency
- Maintain a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion when handling employee information
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of general HR experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
- Working knowledge of general HR practices and employment laws
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proactive, resourceful, and comfortable taking initiative
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- Strong problem‑solving and follow‑through skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn HRIS and other HR technology platforms
