Project Manager

Position Overview

Amentum is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support a new team at the Department of Justice (DOJ) in Washington, DC. The role is full‑time and onsite, reporting to a Lead Project Manager or Deputy Director.

The Project Manager is the primary contractor contact for all support provided to a particular case. Typical caseloads include six to ten moderate cases, with advanced cases potentially reduced or split across multiple managers.

• Plan and manage all support for assigned cases, including workflow monitoring, progress reporting, staff assignment, and budget development/tracking.
• Coordinate technical/data processing, eDiscovery, and other support services, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
• Maintain secure project materials in accordance with Department security procedures.
• Act as the primary point of contact for the COR, Government Case Managers, trial attorneys, client agency staff, and occasionally opposing counsel.
• Document, maintain, and update overall project plans and schedules; implement project management services per policy.
• Lead continuous improvement by recommending enhancements to project management policies, procedures, and processes.
• Organize and manage project staff teams to achieve mission goals and performance objectives.
• Identify and track risks and issues; develop mitigation plans and facilitate resolution.
• Deliver project management deliverables and governance documents.
• Review and update data collection templates quarterly, reflecting environmental changes.
• Implement legal, regulatory, and contractual information security requirements; report on security and compliance as mandatory.
• Support application assessments, audit activities, issue management, and issue closure post-audit.
• Communicate innovation project progress to all appropriate stakeholders.

• At least four years of supervisory and management experience on major litigation support projects.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex, time‑critical litigation support activities concurrently, including technical/data processing and eDiscovery.
• Expert knowledge of litigation support, with outstanding writing, oral communication, and management skills.
• Proficient with the Government’s data processing environment—office automation, networks, PC-based databases, and internet/server-based databases (e.g., Oracle, Relativity, trial director).
• Familiarity with ESI tools and eDiscovery procedures; experience in technical office project management.
• Experience handling financial crimes/non‑compliance cases required.
• Undergraduate degree required; law degree, advanced technical certification, or other relevant graduate degree preferred (substantial experience may substitute).
• Ability to obtain and maintain MRPT facility credentials/authorization; US citizenship required for MRPT authorization at this location.

$89,000 – $133,000. The stated range is a good‑faith estimate and may vary based on qualifications, experience, and market data.
