Procurement Manager – Washington, DC – Initial 12-Month Contract – Life Sciences

Our client develops and delivers life changing medicines to millions of people globally and as part of their growth. With their Drug Substance (DS) manufacturing network growing rapidly, they are committed to growing their portfolio of commercial biologics products supplied worldwide – and this is your opportunity to be involved!

What

you’ll deliver:
  • Develop and execute project procurement strategies, procurement plans, and sourcing approaches aligned with project objectives, delivery models, and market conditions.
  • Lead end-to-end procurement activities including supplier sourcing, prequalification, tender management, bid evaluation, contract negotiation, award, and contract administration.
  • Manage supplier performance and relationships, resolving commercial, delivery, quality, and supply chain issues while mitigating project risks.
  • Ensure procurement governance, compliance, reporting, documentation management, and continuous improvement initiatives are maintained to the highest standards.
Experience required:
  • Proven experience managing complex procurement and sourcing activities, including tendering, supplier negotiations, and contract management within a project-based environment.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to assess market conditions, develop procurement strategies, and deliver cost-effective solutions while managing risk.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders, project teams, suppliers, and external service providers.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills, with a strong understanding of procurement governance, compliance, and audit-ready documentation practices.
