The Bellingham facility, established in 1901, is the original site of Smith Gardens. The site sits on 40 acres of greenhouse and outside growing area.
The Receiving Clerk is responsible for efficiently handling incoming/outgoing shipments,maintaining inventory records, and supporting the flow of materials. This role plays a vital part in ensuring
production runs smoothly by delivering supplies, coordinating with production leadership, and operating a forkliftand other mobile equipment to transport goods.
- Receive, inspects and verifies materials delivered to site.
- Maintains receiving log daily.
- Maintain accurate counts of hard goods and product supplies.
- Inspect shipments for damages and discrepancies and report issues.
- Assist Production Team with inventory/ cycle counting.
- Receive goods in inventory system with precision and attention to detail.
- Prepare and stage materials for production team and coordinate restocking with production leadership to prevent downtime
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of inventory areas.
- Operate a forklift and other mobile equipment to unload and load shipments and transport materials.
- Maintain a proactive and flexible approach to help when needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support operational needs.
- Conduct yourself with high level integrity, adhering to Company standards and values.
- Promote a safe work environment, upholding company safety policies and procedures.
- Ability to cross train in other areas and serve as backup for other positions.
- Attend and participate in meetings and trainings as assigned.
- Train Staff when necessary.
- Detail oriented.
- Consistently reliable and follows through on assignments with minimal supervision.
- Efficiently handles tasks and prioritizes duties to meet tight deadlines.
- Flexible and able to adjust to changing tasks, priorities, and environments.

- Respectful and professional attitude toward all employees.
- Intermediate computer programs.
- 1–2 years of experience in receiving, warehousing, or inventory control, preferably in a horticulture,nursery, oragricultural environment.
- Ability to read and write in English.
- Experience operating a forklift or other material handling equipment is highly desirable.
- Forklift certified required after 30 days. Onsite training provided.
- Work long hours as needed. Including weekends and holidays.
- Continuously walk, stand, squat, kneel (and remain working below knee-level) as well as reaching overhead,and from side to side for long periods of time.
- Work indoors and outdoors, in seasonal temperatures and conditions.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly, and occasionally up to 70 lbs for heavier items
$21.5 - $22.5 per hour
