SUMMARY
Northline Seafoods is seeking Tank Operators for the 2026 salmon season in Bristol Bay, Alaska. This role offers the opportunity for continued, year-round employment in Bellingham, WA, from August through May. Tank Operators will work in the pump room onboard the processing barge Hannah and will be responsible for a variety of operational tasks.
This role may also include preseason work prior to the Bristol Bay season, which runs from mid-June to mid-August.

-compliant identification is required for domestic air travel, including flights to Alaska. Candidates must be able to meet this requirement prior to hire.
- Maintain continuous flow of fish from holding tanks to production.
- Assist in monitoring holding tanks to ensure quality standards are met. Push and clear final fish from holding tanks. Sanitize holding tanks and pump room on a regular schedule.
- Perform preventative maintenance on pump room machinery.
- Verify proper operation of paddles, pumps, and valves.
- Assist the Tank Manager as directed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pump room.
- Work safely in confined spaces and follow all safety procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including:
- Keeping pump room bilges clean and free of standing water.
- Assisting in repairs.
- Tracking and organizing tools.
- Years of experience: 1 (maintenance experience or machine operation)
- Software/Systems Knowledge
- Basic working knowledge of HMI/SCADA systems
- Knowledge of VFDs
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft excel, word, google docs, etc.)
- Effective interpersonal communication skills
- Effective written communication (email)
- Proficient with UHF radio communication
- Other relevant skills
- Basic mechanical background with hands‑on troubleshooting skills
- Basic PVC repair and construction skills (plumbing experience a plus)
- Comfortable working in confined spaces, including confined‑space rescue environments

- Work primarily takes place onboard a vessel.
- Frequent use of equipment including:
- Hand tools: wrenches, screwdrivers, prybars, etc.
- Power tools: angle grinders, power drills, portable bandsaw, etc.
- Ability to navigate wet and cold environments for extended periods.
- Ability to swim.
- Able to handle long shifts (12–16 hours).
- Able to work night shifts.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs independently / 100 lbs with assistance.
