Job Description
Peace Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) – Recovery Room for a Full-Time (0.9 FTE), Day shift position.
The hourly pay range for this role is $45.78 – $82.98
, depending on factors such as education, training, experience, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and seniority.
This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement, and multiple openings may be available.
ScheduleSchedule includes Every Other Weekend. Hiring bonus and relocation assistance may be available.
AboutThe Role
As a Recovery Room RN, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care in alignment with professional nursing standards and unit protocols.
You will play a vital role in fostering a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment that supports patients, families, and the care team.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care needs
- Accurately document patient care in the electronic medical record
- Delegate and coordinate care with other team members based on scope and competency
- Maintain professional knowledge through ongoing education and development
- Participate in quality improvement, safety, and infection prevention initiatives
- Support and uphold hospital policies, procedures, and standards
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (required)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Minimum 2 years of recent Phase I PACU experience in an acute care setting
-OR- 2 years of recent ICU experience - Proven expertise in managing:
- Airway emergencies (e.g., laryngospasm, obstruction, stridor, arrest)
- Hemodynamically unstable patients
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months
- Strong knowledge of age‑specific care across the lifespan
- Ability to foster a positive, patient- and family-centered environment
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of hospital policies and procedures
- Basic computer proficiency
- Patient handling up to 35 lbs. (with assistive devices as appropriate)
- Frequent pushing/pulling up to 45 lbs.
- Ability to perform CPR (20 minutes, 100–125 lbs. force)
- Frequent standing, bending, reaching, and movement
- Exposure to biohazards, body fluids, and a dynamic, sometimes noisy environment
