Inspection Technicians

bp is seeking Inspection Technicians to join their Cherry Point-based team in Blaine, Washington. These professionals will develop expertise in non-destructive testing (NDT) through a structured progression program, supporting the inspection of fixed equipment and piping systems. The ideal candidates are detail-oriented, safety-focused, and eager to advance their technical skills in a dynamic refinery environment.

What You’ll Need
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Documented experience in NDT Methods (UT, UTPA, PAUT, CR, DR, IR, Thermography, etc.)
  • Level 2 Limited Ultrasonic Thickness Certification (SNT-TC-1A equivalent)
  • Ability to complete required NDT classroom training, practical experience, and certification requirements
  • Ability to work under direction while developing independent technical competency
  • Familiarity with refining industry practices, API and ASME inspection criteria
  • Strong organization, teamwork, and communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to obtain FAA Part 107 Pilot’s License, Level II Ultrasonic and Thermography Certifications
  • Must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States
  • TWIC card required on first day of employment
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions, at heights, in confined spaces, and lift/carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to wear required PPE and respirators
  • Willingness to work overtime, night shifts, and respond to call-outs as needed
  • Pass pre-employment drug testing (including marijuana and cannabinoids)
What Will Make You Stand Out
  • Prior NDT experience in a refining or manufacturing environment
  • Current or previous UT Level II certification
  • PAUT/UTPA and automated UT experience
  • Thermography and drone (UAV) pilot experience
  • Database experience (collecting, organizing, and using AI tools)
