LFS, Inc. was established in 1967 and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Trident Seafoods. Our corporate headquarters is in Bellingham, WA and we have two year‑round locations in Washington State:
Bellingham, Seattle. LFS also has five year‑round locations in Alaska:
Anchorage, Cordova, Dutch Harbor, Homer (Kachemak Gear Shed), and Sitka; and two seasonal locations in Dillingham and Naknek. While our core business is supplying the commercial fishing industry, we have evolved to include industrial and sports netting sales, hydraulic sales and services, wholesale/industrial sales, recreational marine and outdoor sales, and internet sales.
LFS is seeking a Retail Department Lead to play a vital role in ensuring smooth daily operations within a marine‑focused retail environment. This position supports store leadership by driving exceptional customer service, and maintaining high standards in merchandising, inventory accuracy, and team coordination. The ideal candidate is hands‑on, organized, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment that serves boating, fishing, and marine‑lifestyle customers.
EssentialFunctions
- Support opening and closing procedures as assigned.
- Train, coach, and guide team members on product knowledge, customer service, and operations tasks.
- Foster a positive, collaborative work environment.
- Lead by example in delivering high‑quality customer experience.
- Demonstrated ability to multi‑task; ability to respond flexibly in a quickly changing environment.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and elevate concerns when needed.
- Support loss prevention efforts through proper handling of high‑value products.
- Provide sales guidance to customers; assist them in making the best choice.
- Uphold the store's clean, organized, and welcoming appearance, merchandise products, work to maintain stock levels, highlight new products and source new products.
- Strong verbal communication and listening skills; self‑motivated.
- Available to work all shifts including weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of the store.
- Available to travel and work industry trade shows in the Pacific Northwest.
Pay for this position is: $23 to $24 DOE.
Required Qualifications- High School or GED certificate
- 1–2 years in retail operations
Education and Experience
- 2+ years' experience in retail operations; leadership or key‑holder experience preferred.
- Knowledge of marine products, boating equipment, or outdoor recreation.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift/move objects up to ten pounds, frequently up to twenty‑five pounds, occasionally up to fifty pounds.
