Job Summary

The Store Assistant Manager supports retail, production, and material handling teams, ensuring team member satisfaction, achieving financial goals, and maintaining operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Understand operational metrics; implement plans to achieve goals
  • Discuss operations and results with knowledge and fluidity
  • Maximize sales through proper stock rotation, merchandising, signage, identification of e‑commerce merchandise, and inventory levels of new and used goods
  • Ensure continuous product flow through production support and partnership with inventory and new goods, providing customers with an excellent assortment
  • Inspire and actively engage in excellent customer service for both internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop strong working relationships throughout the enterprise and partner effectively
  • Attract, hire, develop, inspire, and retain top talent
  • Champion diversity, equity and inclusion; promote the talents and voices of all people
  • Ensure compliance with Seattle Goodwill policies and procedures and relevant areas (People & Culture, Finance, Asset Protection, Risk & Safety, Customer Service, New Goods, Inventory, Merchandising)
Supervisory Responsibilities

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Goodwill’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, & directing work, monitoring performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems. Partners with People Relations as needed.

Position Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Retail leadership experience of 3+ years
  • 2+ years leading a sales team in a retail or service environment
  • Experience leading a team in a customer‑centric, solutions‑based environment
  • Must be able to engage and speak to customers and understand their needs
  • Skilled understanding of budget metrics, P+L; minimum 1 year
Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations
  • Valid Washington Driver’s license and proof of insurance with a good driving record
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
  • Ability to learn new technology and software related to the job
Physical Abilities

Lifting and carrying 20‑30 pounds; fine motor control; standing for long periods; frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, stooping, squatting, pushing; climbing ladders; traveling across varied surfaces; operating computer systems; specific vision abilities; effective verbal and written communication; reliable attendance.

Work Environment

Exposure to noise consistent with a retail environment and occasional outside work. Flexible schedule including nights and weekends. Must have reliable transportation for offsite meetings and events.
