Summary
The Sales Teammate primary responsibility is to fulfill the mission: “To create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our Guests.” Sales teammates perform sales, merchandising, and operational tasks assigned by Store Management, such as cashiering, merchandise display, register procedures, and routine facility cleaning.
Compensation & BenefitsPay range: $19.13–$21/hr the estimate is the budgeted amount; final offers vary by skill, experience, location, and other factors.
Base pay is supplemented with a 3% commission on sales. The listed range reflects estimated base plus commission for this position.

- Answer questions about the store and its merchandise.
- Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on guest needs.
- Anticipate and fulfill guest needs by suggesting additional items and creating a wardrobe experience.
- Demonstrate products using product knowledge and sales education, sharing that knowledge with teammates.
- Maintain and share knowledge of current sales, promotions, payment policies, exchanges, and security practices.
- Consistently meet personal sales‑per‑hour, average sales, and total net sales goals set by Store Management.
- Provide legendary service throughout the store in key areas: front 5, sales floor, fitting rooms, register area.
- Assist guests with fitting or try‑on procedures.
- Check out and bag purchases.
- Prepare merchandise for alterations.
- Know all exchange and return procedures and turn them into showmanship opportunities.
- Fill out and use the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG) daily to accomplish goals.
- Meet or exceed performance standards in all Buckle business builders and guest loyalty programs.
- Place special orders or coordinate with other stores for desired merchandise.
- Maintain and build good guest relationships to develop a client‑based business.
- Consistently perform leadership actions and maintain high standards, even without manager presence.
- Identify recruiting opportunities using Jobs & Careers cards, email referrals, and teammate recommendations.
- Create relationships through Guest Loyalty and Guest Preferred programs.
- Maintain a professional and respectful attitude, fostering a positive floor culture.
- Present merchandise to maximize sales and achieve optimal merchandise turn.
- Stay current on product range.
- Collaborate with teammates and guests to identify product improvements and new ideas.
- Ensure the sales floor is consistently sized and new freight is appropriately displayed.
- Work a flexible schedule that may include mornings, evenings, and weekends, including days around Thanksgiving and Christmas.
- Open and close cash registers, use magnetic card readers, count money, separate charge slips, coupons, and vouchers, balance drawers, and make deposits.
