Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Retail Sales
- Key Cutter to join our team as the primary key cutter and department lead. This position will involve cutting various key types, programming key fobs, managing the knife selection, overseeing the glove inventory, and serving customers with exceptional service and expertise. Additionally, this role will include learning knife sharpening techniques, managing inventory, coordinating with vendors, and maintaining the department's display and stock.
- Serve as the primary key cutter for the store, cutting and duplicating various key types to meet customer needs.
- Program key fobs for vehicles and security systems with precision and accuracy.
- Manage the knife selection, including overseeing knife inventory, display, and occasional sharpening.
- Oversee the glove inventory, including ordering, restocking, and displaying to ensure availability and quality of selection for customers.
- Greet customers warmly and assist in selecting the appropriate keys, fobs, knives, or gloves based on their needs.
- Provide product knowledge and guidance on knife handling, safety, and care.
- Offer technical support and advice on key fob programming and troubleshooting as needed.
- Track and manage inventory levels for keys, gloves, and knives, restocking and ordering as necessary.
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors, handling orders, deliveries, and any necessary follow-ups for department supplies.
- Ensure department displays are visually appealing, organized, and priced accurately.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area and sales floor for an inviting customer experience.
- Work collaboratively with other departments and report any operational needs or improvements to management.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working in a hardware store preferred.
- Experience in retail sales, inventory management, or key cutting is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused attitude.
- Ability to handle inventory, perform basic computer tasks for ordering and sales, and operate key-cutting and knife-sharpening equipment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a retail environment.
- Attention to detail and good organizational skills.
- Basic math skills for inventory management, measurements, and sales.
