Ophthalmology Sales Manager (OSM) covers the Pacific Northwest and must reside in Seattle, Washington or Portland, Oregon.
Position SummaryThe OSM promotes, influences, and sells Topcon’s Diagnostic and Refractive instrument platform in their designated territory. They are required to travel a minimum of 50% of the time within the territory, attend local and national trade shows, and remain knowledgeable on clinical and technical applications of all products.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Promote and sell clinical diagnostic instruments such as OCTs, retinal cameras, topographers, refraction systems, and Topcon’s Harmony Healthcare Digital Management System.
- Develop an annual business plan, modified and/or updated quarterly, with clear action items to achieve quarterly and annual quotas.
- Effectively plan territory and maintain regular activity to maximize efficiency, prospect and cultivate new accounts, develop current accounts, obtain orders, and meet sales goals.
- Communicate with sales management and internal departments on competitive issues, territory issues, order status, and complaints following Topcon QMS processes.
- Conduct routine instrument demonstrations weekly, tailoring presentations and materials for specific customer needs.
- Serve as a consultant, source of information, problem solver, and educator to maintain continuity with the customer.
- Maintain high‑quality account profiles in the CRM.
- Perform special projects or duties for individual enrichment, self‑growth, and company benefit.
- Collaborate with Topcon sales and marketing teams to uncover and win opportunities collectively.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Experience selling capital equipment into ophthalmology practices, ambulatory surgery centers, hospital systems, integrated delivery networks, government, and national accounts is preferred.
- Business-to-Business sales experience with understanding of sales process and ethical business practices.
- Strong C-level call experience and strategic selling skills preferred.
- Evidence of top performance in prior sales roles.
- Understanding of health insurance and payers strongly preferred.
- Strong presentation skills, business acumen, leadership qualities, and sales metrics knowledge.
- Analytical aptitude, problem‑solving skills, and client‑focused mindset.
- Must reside in Washington or Oregon.
- Available for overnight travel up to 25–50% of the time, including occasional weekends and holidays.
- Live no more than 1.5 hours from a major U.S. airport.
- Ability to work remotely.
- Extensive travel by plane and automobile.
- Physical lifting of 25–100 lbs.
- Standing for up to 8 hours or more during trade shows.
- Valid passport and/or REAL identification required.
Base Pay: Expected base pay $100,000 annualized, based on full‑time schedule.
Car Allowance Eligible: $600 monthly car allowance.
Sales Incentive Eligible: Eligibility for certain sales incentives and commissions.
