District Electrical Services has an exciting opportunity for an Electrician! This position is responsible for performing commercial electrical installations on new construction and renovation projects. The Electrician will support commercial construction projects by installing, terminating, testing, and troubleshooting electrical systems while ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable codes. The ideal candidate is an experienced commercial electrician who thrives in a fast-paced construction environment, takes pride in producing quality workmanship, and works collaboratively with project managers, subcontractors, and other trades to deliver successful projects.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

THE ELECTRICIAN WILL:

  • Install electrical systems for commercial new construction, tenant improvement, and renovation projects.
  • Install, bend, and secure EMT, IMC, rigid conduit, and MC cable in accordance with project specifications and the Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Install and terminate electrical panels, transformers, disconnects, switch gear, feeders, branch circuits, lighting systems, switches, receptacles, and other electrical equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, panel schedules, and project specifications.
  • Install lighting controls, occupancy sensors, and low-voltage control wiring.
  • Perform panel terminations, equipment connections, circuit testing, and troubleshooting throughout all phases of construction.
  • Coordinate work with project managers, general contractors, subcontractors, and other trades to maintain project schedules.
  • Ensure all work complies with the Electrical Code (NEC), OSHA regulations, DC codes, and company safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of completed work, materials used, and project progress.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, safe work environment.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE HAS:

  • A current DC Journeyman Electrician License/Card or a minimum of 10 years of hands-on commercial electrical construction experience.
  • Experience with commercial new construction, renovation, or ground-up construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial electrical systems, conduit installation, wire pulling, panel terminations, lighting controls, and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and project specifications.
  • Thorough knowledge of the Electrical Code (NEC) and OSHA safety standards.
  • Experience working collaboratively with project managers, subcontractors, and multiple trades on active construction sites.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills with a strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
  • The ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Must provide their own hand tools.
  • A valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record .
