PROtect, LLC is hiring motivated individuals to start a career in environmental compliance and emissions monitoring, no prior LDAR experience required.
As an Environmental Field Technician (Apprentice), you’ll receive paid, hands‑on training while working alongside experienced technicians at an industrial site. You’ll learn how to detect emissions, use specialized equipment, and help major facilities stay compliant with environmental regulations.

Compensation:
Starting pay at $22.00/hr

What You’ll Learn & DoEmissions Monitoring & Field Work
- Learn to monitor equipment using EPA Method 21
- Inspect valves, pumps, and components for emissions leaks
- Tag leaks and support repair tracking
- Complete assigned monitoring routes within required timelines
- Use portable analyzers and electronic data collection devices
- Calibrate equipment and make minor adjustments
- Upload daily data and assist with emissions reporting
- Work closely with plant operations and site leadership
- Communicate daily findings and potential issues
- Support overall site compliance and performance
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE (including respirators)
- Report hazards, near misses, and incidents
- Build strong safety habits from day one
- 18+ years old with a high school diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Comfortable working outdoors and in industrial environments
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, or similar)
Helpful but not required:
- Any field, labor, or industrial experience
- Environmental or mechanical interest
- Experience with tools, equipment, or data entry
We’ll train you.
- Industrial facility setting (refinery/plant environment)
- Outdoor work in all weather conditions
- Physically active role (walking, climbing, lifting, working at heights up to 300 ft)
- Exposure to noise, fumes, and industrial conditions (with proper PPE)
- Full‑time role (schedule may vary by site)
- May include extended hours, weekends, or occasional travel
