Overview

At the front line of the Safelite experience, the Auto Glass Technician is an entrepreneurial, hands‑on professional that leverages Safelite training, industry‑leading tools, and technology to complete repairs, replacements, and recalibrations in the shop and on the go with our Mobile Glass Shop offerings.

Responsibilities
  • Provide all vehicle glass repair and replacement services at a Safelite Shop or Mobile Glass Shop efficiently, focusing on safety, quality, and exceptional customer service; clean customer vehicles after every job.
  • Recalibrate automotive safety systems, including troubleshooting and completing diagnostic testing.
  • Proficiently operate Safelite’s tools and technologies, including True Seal®, Ezi‑Wire™, Glass Table System (GTS), chemicals (as required by the “Safelite Way of Fitting”), work order and customer administration systems, and the handheld Mobile Resource Management (MRM) technology.
  • Safely operate company and customer vehicles throughout the workday.
  • Communicate with all scheduled customers in‑person, via text, and on the phone; present, promote, and sell Safelite promotional items and services to customers.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all company policies and safety standards.
  • Conduct driving duties monitored through cameras, GPS, and other tracking technologies to ensure safety and compliance.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent (preferred).
  • Valid state‑issued driver’s license (required) and any other license(s) required by federal, state, and local laws to operate a company vehicle.
  • Safelite Safe Tech™ certification (required).
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, work in tight spaces, bend, and twist the body.
  • Proficiency in safely using hand and power tools.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle safely and in compliance with all laws; agreement to be monitored via in‑cab vehicle safety camera/video surveillance technology.
  • Professionalism and passion for outstanding customer service; ability to exceed customer expectations.
  • Ability to work outside in a variety of weather conditions and extreme temperatures for extended periods.
  • Ability to work with chemicals, including flammable chemicals, as applicable.
  • Flexibility to work scheduled days with adaptable start and end times to accommodate customer needs.
  • Proficiency in computerized diagnostic tools for recalibrations and troubleshooting.
  • Problem‑solving skills and ability to troubleshoot independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret the English language and technical directions.
  • Ability to communicate orally (via phone) and in written form (via computer or other electronic means).
  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance, adhering to Company uniform and PPE policies.
  • Willingness and ability to maintain stable performance under professional or personal pressure.
