We are currently hiring for five positions: four Bilingual Housing Case Managers and one Housing Case Manager. These positions will be based out of our offices located at 1111 Cornwall Ave and 625 Cornwall Ave in Bellingham.

Starting Pay Ranges:

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Provides direct case management services to individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, focusing on helping them achieve housing stability. Uses Harm Reduction and Motivational Interviewing models of case management that are client driven, solution focused and facilitates change and movement toward greater stability and well-being. Specific duties may include, but are not limited to home visits, intakes, the tracking of services, and assisting in program development.

WORK SCHEDULE:

Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provides case management services to households participating in homeless housing programs.
  • Conducts intakes and provides assessments.
  • Maintains confidential case notes on each individual client.
  • Develops and maintains cooperative working relationship with other agencies and service providers.
  • Serves as link between client and resources.
  • Provides reporting and tracking information for data management systems.
  • Determines client eligibility for housing services.
  • Ensures that all federal, state, agency and/or funder guidelines are met.
  • Assists in program development work.
BILINGUAL POSITIONS ONLY:

Specialize in providing services to clients and families who speak a language other than English as a primary language. May occasionally be asked to support with translating/interpreting a language other than English to assist potential or current clients.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Psychology, Sociology, or related field and six months related experience or equivalent education/experience.
  • Case management experience in social service employment setting, and a working knowledge of issues and resources in relation to housing services for low-income households preferred.
  • If hiring for a bilingual position. Must be able to speak, read, and write with proficiency and fluency in the required language.
  • Valid Washington State driver’s license and five-year driving history within Opportunity Council’s Auto Insurance Standards.
