The Family Resources Coordinator (FRC) is an integral part of our Early Support services team. The FRC is responsible for developing, implementing and coordinating comprehensive, family-centered early support services for children birth to three and their families, under the provision of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, IDEA-Part C, Early Intervention Section, and following the guidance of Early Support for Infants and Toddlers (ESIT) and Whatcom Center for Early Learning (WCEL) guidelines.
This position reports to their assigned Lead Family Resources Coordinator. We are looking for individuals who are proficient in verbally communicating in Spanish and English.
Location:
Primarily works from the Blue or Brick House as assigned, and remotely as necessary.
- Coordinate the intake, eligibility, evaluation, enrollment, and transition process for children and families participating in Early Support for Infants and Toddlers (ESIT) services.
- Partner with families and the interdisciplinary Primary Service Provider (PSP) team to develop, implement, and review Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs).
- Facilitate the development of functional family-centered outcomes and goals that support child participation in daily routines and activities.
- Engage parents and caregivers as active partners in all aspects of assessment, planning, service delivery, and transition.
- Coordinate and monitor services to ensure families receive timely, integrated support in natural environments, including homes and community settings.
- Provide families with information, resources, and referrals to support informed decision-making and access to community services.
- Advocate for family priorities and support understanding of rights, responsibilities, and available programs and services.
- Collaborate with medical providers, school districts, childcare providers, social service agencies, cultural navigators, and other community partners to address family needs.
- Participate in outreach and community engagement activities that promote awareness of WCEL and ESIT services.
- Attend family education opportunities, community meetings, and agency events as assigned.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and timely records in required ESIT data systems in compliance with program regulations, contractual requirements, and WCEL standards.
- Prepare and maintain required documentation, including assessments, IFSPs, progress updates, medical information, transition records, and family files.
