Mon – Fri 8:00am – 4:30pm

This position participates in the after-hours administrator on-call rotation; candidates must be available to provide after hours support as required.

Position Overview

The Infection Prevention RN helps protect patients, staff, and families from preventable infections while keeping care aligned with comfort-focused goals. The position centers on surveillance, staff education in collaboration with the Clinical Educator, policy support, and practical infection prevention and control measures such as hand hygiene, PPE use, cleaning, and exposure response. Overall, the job is about reducing infection risk in a way that supports compassionate end-of-life care.

Responsibilities
  • Surveillance of infection risks and data reporting in coordination with clinical teams.
  • Education and training in infection prevention for staff, in collaboration with the Clinical Educator.
  • Policy support and implementation of infection prevention practices.
  • Practical infection prevention measures including hand hygiene, PPE use, cleaning, and exposure response.
  • Support end-of-life care with an emphasis on comfort.
  • Minimum Qualifications
  • Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Washington State.
  • Certification in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Washington State Food Worker Card issued by the Department of Health.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of clinical nursing experience.
  • Strong teaching, communication, and public speaking skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and educational methodologies.
  • Familiarity with infection control surveillance, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Availability to work weekends, evenings, nights, and holidays as part of the administrator on-call rotation.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license, and reliable transportation, as driving is an essential function of this role. Must meet insurance eligibility requirements.
  • This position is designated as Safety Sensitive. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen which includes cannabis testing in Washington State.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing or a related field.
  • Experience in clinical education and/or infection prevention.
  • Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Nurse (CHPN) through the Hospice and Palliative Care Credentialing Center (HPCC).
  • Certification in Infection Control (CIC).
  • Hospice and/or palliative care experience.
  • Experience in supervision, team leadership, or staff development.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English, with the ability to speak, read, write, and communicate effectively in both languages.

    Compensation

    Hiring Range: $37.67 - $57.22 per hour

    Sign-On Bonus: New hires are eligible to receive a $3,000 bonus upon successful completion of 90 days of continuous employment in good standing.

    Premiums:

    • Weeknight: $2.50/hour
    • Weekend day: $2.25/hour
    • Weekend Night: $4.75/hour
    • On Call Standby: $4.00/hour

    Note regarding the listed pay range: At Tri-Cities Chaplaincy, pay ranges are established based on education, certifications, knowledge, skills, experience, internal equity, and market conditions, and are aligned with program needs. The starting pay range offered to new hires depends on experience and qualifications.
