Position: Hospice RN Per Diem Night on Call

Location: Kennewick, WA

Type: Per Diem

Schedule:

7:00pm – 7:30am minimum of two shifts a month

Position Overview

The Per Diem Hospice House (HH) Registered Nurse (RN) passionately embraces the hospice philosophy, using teaching, assessment, and intervention skills to provide top‑notch end‑of‑life care. The RN coordinates services, offers compassion and support to those in the terminal stage of illness and their families, follows care plans and agency policies, and oversees LPNs, CNAs, and volunteers while on site.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications
  • Current unrestricted Washington state License as a professional Registered Nurse.
  • Minimum availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Reliable transportation and the ability to drive independently within Tri‑Cities Chaplaincy’s service areas to provide in‑home patient and family services.
  • Position designated as Safety Sensitive; must pass a pre‑employment drug screen which includes cannabis testing in Washington State.
  • Certification in Cardio‑Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/Basic Life Safety (BLS).
  • Washington State Food Worker Card issued by the Department of Health.
  • Ability to report to the assigned work location(s) as scheduled and maintain consistent, reliable attendance.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Hospice Experience, Oncology and/or Home Health Experience as a CNA, LPN, or RN.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English, with the ability to speak, read, write, and communicate effectively in both languages.
  • Compensation

    Hiring Range: $37.67/hour – $57.22/hour

    $3,000 Sign‑On Bonus: New hires are eligible to receive a $3,000 bonus upon successful completion of 90 days of continuous employment in good standing.

    Premiums:

    • $2.50/hour Weeknight
    • $2.00/hour Per Diem
    • $2.25/hour Weekend day
    • $4.75/hour Weekend Night
    • $4.00/hour On Call Standby
    Benefits
    • Mileage Reimbursement: $0.72 per mile.
    • Holiday pay for work on Holidays.
    • Sick time earned on an accrual basis.
    Agency Requirements
  • Demonstrate support and adherence to the agency’s Mission, Vision, and Values.
  • Participate in education and outreach activities to promote agency programs, including hospice care, advanced planning, and bereavement services.
  • Maintain knowledge of and comply with agency policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Protect patient and agency information per HIPAA guidelines; only access information on a need‑to‑know basis.
  • Maintain reliable personal transportation; hold a valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance per state requirements.
  • Satisfy state and agency health requirements by providing proof of immunization, declinations, or approved accommodations as applicable.
  • Pass criminal background and drug screenings.
  • Meet the physical and environmental requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. (see attached physical requirements)
  • Complete agency and departmental orientation and required training programs.
  • Complete ongoing education, policy reviews, and training by designated deadlines.
  • Maintain current licensure(s) and certification(s) required for the role.
  • Read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
  • Be available to work as assigned or scheduled.
