About Linked Field

Linked Field helps General Contractors scale their project teams by providing experienced remote construction professionals on a part-time, project-based basis.

The Linked Field Community is a network of vetted Construction Project Managers who support active projects across submittals, change orders, closeout, and subcontractor coordination. Remote Construction PMs are staffed onto projects based on client demand, experience, and availability.

As part of Linked Field, you will work directly with General Contractor teams, taking ownership of subcontractor coordination, document management, and project workflows across multiple projects over time. This is a project-based role. Work is assigned based on active project demand, and candidates may support different projects over time.

The Role

This is not a traditional PM role and not a pure customer facing role.

As a Remote Construction Project Manager, you will:
  • Do the work (get documents approved – submittals, change orders, closeout, etc.)
  • Own the customer relationship and with subcontractors
  • Project delivery end-to-end using Linked Field’s internal tools
  • Be accountable for outcomes, metrics, problem solving and client satisfaction

This role is best suited for experienced GC PMs/APMs who want ownership, autonomy, and remote flexibility
—and who enjoy unblocking complex problems on projects and driving them to completion.

Types of Linked Field Projects/Clients

Linked Field works with mid-size to large commercial General Contractors, on mid/large/multi-phase/complex projects. These project teams run into “emergency” situations where they need additional resources from Linked Field, examples are as follows:

At the start of the project
  • Manage the buyout process for certain trades
  • Set up the onboarding log, and get onboarding documents approved
  • Set up the submittal log, and get submittals approved
During a project
  • Provide coverage for a GC team member on leave
  • Help manage the procurement process for the GC PM
  • Get change orders approved by the owner
  • Drawing Review (bulletins/ASI’s/drawing revisions) and associated coordination (submittal revisions, change orders, etc.)
At the end of the project
  • Project closeout with the owner
  • Financial closeout with subcontractors/owner

At the beginning of the project, the Linked Field team will work with the client to determine the SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) goal for the project. The performance of the Remote Project Manager will be based on the identified SMART project goals.

What You’ll Be Responsible For 1. Project Execution (Hands‑On)
  • Manage submittals, change order pricing, closeout, billing, RFIs, and logs
  • Review drawings, specs, and construction documents
  • Coordinate directly with subcontractors, architects, owners, subcontractors and GC teams
  • Make frequent outbound calls and follow-ups to unblock work
  • Ensure project documentation meets entitlement and quality standards
2. Customer Ownership & Communication
  • Lead weekly check‑ins and progress reviews
  • Proactively identify risks, delays, and bottlenecks
  • Communicate clearly, professionally, and with urgency
  • Ensure customers consistently see value from Linked Field
  • Let the customer (and Linked Field) know about your out of office, holidays, etc.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for assigned GC customers
3. Delivery Oversight & Quality Control
  • Own delivery across multiple project stakeholders at once
  • Track progress, deadlines, and utilization
  • Ensure work advances to approval
  • Step in directly when deliverables are in jeopardy

4. Platform & Process Ownership
  • Use Linked Field’s internal systems (software automation, dashboards, reporting tools)
  • Produce weekly metrics and performance updates for the SMART goals
  • Maintain accurate project logs and reporting
  • Continuously improve workflows as the platform scales
