This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled electrical professional with a strong understanding of compliance, inspection, testing, and auditing within domestic electrical installations.

Working across Central Scotland, you will be responsible for auditing electrical works, ensuring installations meet current regulations, identifying areas of non-compliance, and supporting the delivery of safe, high-quality electrical services across a range of domestic properties.

This role requires a thorough understanding of electrical systems, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to confidently assess work carried out by electrical operatives and contractors.

Key Responsibilities

As an Electrical Compliance Auditor, your duties will include:

  • Inspecting and assessing electric storage heating systems and associated controls.
  • Auditing the installation and maintenance of smoke alarms, heat alarms, and interconnected fire detection systems.
  • Reviewing and assessing Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs).
  • Auditing Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificates and Electrical Installation Certificates (EICs) relating to alterations and additions.
  • Inspecting routine repairs and fault rectification works to ensure effective remedial actions have been implemented.
  • Auditing renewable energy installations, including solar photovoltaic (PV) systems and associated equipment.
  • Inspecting consumer units, circuits, earthing, bonding arrangements, and protective devices to verify compliance with current regulations.
  • Conducting electrical safety assessments and reviewing Code C1, C2, C3, and FI observations identified during EICRs.
  • Ensuring all electrical works comply with BS 7671 Wiring Regulations and relevant health and safety legislation.
  • Reviewing electrical testing procedures, including continuity, insulation resistance, polarity, earth fault loop impedance, RCD, and functional testing.
  • Producing accurate audit reports, compliance documentation, and digital records.
  • Providing clear feedback and guidance regarding audit findings and recommended corrective actions.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, safety, and compliance standards.
What We're Looking For Essential
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience within the electrical industry.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of domestic electrical installations, inspection, testing, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience interpreting electrical certification and technical documentation.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
Desirable
  • City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Training qualification (or equivalent).
  • Qualified Supervisor (QS) experience.
