Position: Youth Care Worker
Department: Homeless Youth
Location: Bellwood, Illinois.
Schedule: Saturday and Sunday 8 A.M - 4 P.M.
- Weekends only
Under the direction of the Program Manager, the Youth Care Worker assists adolescent wards of the state with preparing for adulthood by providing counseling, employment assistance, and educational/life skills training. A Youth Care Worker refers residents for services, as needed; collaborates with case managers in reviewing and planning individual service plans; and provides transportation, as needed.
Knowledge of DCFS policies, procedures, and regulations is an asset.
Qualifications- Associate degree or at least 60 hours of college credits
- One year of experience working with high-risk adolescents, preferably in a residential setting
- Three years of experience working with youths at risk without a college degree
- Valid driver's license
- Clear driving record
- Reliable transportation (proof of insurance may be needed)
