Grocery Clerk - Customer Service & Stock

Lunardi’s Markets is a local, family-owned grocery store chain in the San Francisco Bay Area with a focus on high-quality products and customer service. This role supports customer service, store operations, and teamwork.

Must be 18 years of age. We are looking for warm and friendly individuals who enjoy interacting with customers and providing excellent service. Candidates should be reliable, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and capable of multi-tasking while observing high safety and quality standards. Ideal applicants are self-motivated, detail-oriented, eager to learn new skills, team players, and committed to growing within the organization.

• All available roles are union positions with competitive pay and benefits.
• Pay rates are determined during the employment interview and depend on experience.

We are hiring for several roles depending on interest, experience, and skill set. Descriptions below are not exhaustive and duties may change over time.

• Grocery Clerks / Cashiers
  • No experience required. On-the-job training provided.
  • Provide excellent customer service and address customer needs in a timely and effective manner.
  • Learn about store products and their general use and location in the store.
  • Follow proper checkout procedures, including fraud prevention and bagging customer purchases.
  • Operate equipment and tools used during shifts (e.g., cash registers, box cutters, trash compactors, cardboard balers, forklifts, pallet jacks).
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customers and company policies.
  • Protect the safety of self, co-workers, and customers; report safety-related accidents and incidents to management immediately.
• Night Crew Stockers
  • No experience required. On-the-job training provided.
  • Monitor stock levels in the backroom and on the sales floor.
  • Keep the store looking filled and fresh by stocking, rotating, and organizing merchandise for an attractive appearance.
  • Check product quality and/or “sell by” dates to ensure freshness and compliance.
  • Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to management.
  • Possibly work as a cashier if the shift includes store business hours.
  • Operate equipment and tools used during shifts (e.g., cash registers, box cutters, trash compactors, cardboard balers, forklifts, pallet jacks).
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customers and company policies.
  • Protect the safety of self, co-workers, and customers; report safety-related accidents and incidents to management immediately.

• Must be able to regularly lift about 20 to 30 lbs. (Occasionally, up to 50 lbs.).
• Standing up to 8 hours per day.
