About This Role

The Registered Nurse for Psychotic Disorders at Mass General Brigham is responsible for providing immediate and long‑term nursing care to patients, utilizing the nursing process within established standards. This role is ideal for nurses who are skilled in crisis intervention and patient assessment.

What You’ll Do
  • Accurately assess patients’ needs using multiple data sources.
  • Perform point‑of‑care testing and communicate findings to the healthcare team.
  • Identify patient behaviors contributing to crises and utilize de‑escalation techniques.
  • Plan and modify nursing interventions for assigned patients.
  • Establish therapeutic alliances with assigned patients.
  • Administer medications safely and accurately using BMV scanning.
  • Participate in leading patient groups and document patient responses.
  • Provide direction and supervision of Mental Health Specialists (MHSs).
  • Offer health teaching related to patient needs and recovery goals.
  • Maintain competency for treating the patient population and seek feedback on performance.
Requirements
  • Education: Other Certificate/Diploma in Nursing required, Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
  • Experience: No experience required; 1 year of medical/psychiatric experience preferred
  • Licenses &

    Certifications:

    Current RN License in Massachusetts required; MR safety certification preferred
