About This Role

The Registered Nurse for Substance Use Disorder at Mass General Brigham is responsible for providing immediate and long-term nursing care to patients, utilizing the nursing process and adhering to departmental standards. This role is ideal for nurses who are passionate about supporting patients in their recovery journey.

What You'll Do
  • Accurately assess patients’ needs.
  • Utilize multiple data sources to determine health problems and functional status.
  • Utilize Recovery Oriented Framework to identify patient strengths.
  • Perform point of care testing and communicate findings effectively.
  • Document patient responses to treatment interventions.
  • Identify and de-escalate crisis situations using verbal and non-verbal techniques.
  • Plan and modify nursing interventions for assigned patients.
  • Participate in the development of the multidisciplinary treatment plan.
  • Establish therapeutic alliances with assigned patients.
  • Provide health teaching related to patient needs and recovery goals.
Requirements

Education:
  • Other Certificate/Diploma in Nursing required, Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
Experience:
  • No experience required; one year of medical/psychiatric experience preferred.
Licenses &

Certifications:
  • Current RN License in Massachusetts required.
  • MR safety certification required.
  • Standard blood draw procedures certification required.
