Full Charge Bookkeeper

Description

We are seeking an experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper with strong construction industry expertise to join our team in Belmont, North Carolina. This role requires a hands-on accounting professional who is highly detail‑oriented, capable of managing the full bookkeeping cycle, and adept at supporting project-based financial operations.

Experience with construction accounting, job costing, and project financial tracking is required.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage all core bookkeeping functions, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger maintenance, and Payroll for a workforce of under 100 employees.

- Maintain and oversee construction job costing, including budget tracking, cost-to-complete calculations, and job profitability analysis.

- Perform project accounting tasks, ensuring accurate financial reporting for multiple construction projects simultaneously.

- Utilize Quick Books to record, track, and reconcile all financial data with precision.

- Conduct regular bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure accuracy and financial integrity.

- Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, variance reports, and project-specific reporting for management.

- Monitor cash flow and support financial planning for ongoing and upcoming projects.

- Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies in financial records promptly.

- Collaborate cross-functionally with project managers, operations, and leadership to ensure accurate job set-up, billing, and cost tracking.

- Support year-end processes and audits, including preparing schedules, documentation, and reconciliations.

- Maintain compliance with GAAP and construction accounting best practices.

Requirements

- Construction industry accounting experience (required)

- Proficiency in job costing and project-based financial analysis (required)

- Strong working knowledge of Quick Books

- Ability to manage the full accounting cycle independently

- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

- Strong communication skills and experience partnering with operations/project teams

- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, project-driven environment
