Job Summary:

As a Purchasing Expeditor, you will be responsible for supporting the procurement team in expediting and coordinating the timely delivery of goods and services. Your primary focus will be on ensuring that purchase orders are processed efficiently, suppliers meet delivery deadlines, and potential delays are proactively addressed.

Key Responsibilities:

Purchase Order Management:
  • Create and manage purchase orders in accordance with established procurement policies and procedures.
  • Verify order accuracy, specifications, and pricing.
  • Communicate with suppliers to confirm order details, delivery schedules, and any changes to the purchase orders.
  • Monitor supplier performance and address any issues that may impact delivery timelines.
Expedite Deliveries:
  • Proactively identify potential delays in the delivery of goods and services.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to expedite deliveries and mitigate risks.
Communication:
  • Maintain regular communication with the procurement team, suppliers, and internal departments to provide updates on order status.
  • Report any issues or concerns related to procurement and suggest solutions.
Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, delivery status, and communication with suppliers.
  • Ensure all documentation is organized and accessible for audit purposes.
Problem Resolution:
  • Address and resolve any issues related to late deliveries, quality concerns, or discrepancies in orders.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to find solutions to procurement-related challenges.
Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant regulations in all procurement activities.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the development and implementation of best practices in procurement.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or a related role.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Attention to detail and a focus on accuracy.
  • Familiarity with procurement software and systems.
