Admissions Counselor

Position Summary

Belmont Abbey College invites applications for the current position of Admissions Counselor.

We are seeking an enthusiastic relationship‑builder who is passionate about Catholic higher education and dedicated to guiding prospective students and their families through the enrollment journey. The successful candidate for this full‑time, twelve‑month position manages, plans, coordinates, and participates in all recruitment programs and related activities for the purpose of providing the College with a representative applicant pool to achieve enrollment objectives.

The Admissions Counselor assists the Director of Admissions in the day‑to‑day responsibilities of the Admissions office and contributes to the vision and outreach strategies of the office in conjunction with the College’s vision and strategic plan. The Admissions Counselor manages their assigned group of prospective students, travel budgets, and travel arrangements. The Admissions Counselor manages communication with prospective students on a weekly basis and throughout the enrollment cycle.

The Admissions Counselor assists with the coordination of and attends all on‑campus recruiting events.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree with a preferred 1 year of experience working in an Admissions office or at a college campus. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint are required. Desire to learn TargetX Sales Force and our student information system (SIS) are required. A comfort level with public speaking is required. The work environment is an office setting that requires the ability to work odd shifts, travel up to 50% of the time by air or car, sit continuously at a computer, and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

In addition, candidates must wholeheartedly embrace the mission of the College to educate students in the liberal arts and sciences so that in all things God may be glorified. The incumbent will consistently demonstrate skills, attitudes, and stable disposition of character to support our Catholic and Benedictine identity while fostering the development of mind, body, and spirit in our students, our staff and the greater community.

Finally, candidates must have a sincere appreciation and acceptance of our Catholic approach to education and an understanding of Pope Saint John Paul II’s Ex Corde Ecclesiae.

Located ten minutes west of Charlotte, North Carolina, Belmont Abbey College is a Catholic, Benedictine school that educates a diverse student body in the liberal arts and sciences.
