Fiber Glass Manufacturing Technical Expert
Serves as fiber forming subject matter expert providing technical guidance for troubleshooting production processes and new product development.
Lead projects to reduce cost, improve efficiency and quality through the use of six sigma tools.
Possess an understanding of ASTM standards, fiberglass quality testing and metrics.
Connected to and driven by the organization’s Continuous Improvement and Quality programs.
Possesses complex problem-solving skills and ability to motivate others in a cooperative effort.
Involved with variable situations requiring analytical, interpretive, evaluative and/or constructive thinking.
The technical complexity of fiber glass manufacturing demands a strong background in engineering applications that are unique to the business in the following areas:
- Heat transfer
- Viscous fluid flow
- Thermodynamics
- Fiber and filament high speed winding/chopping
- Glass batch melting, process air conditioning
- Primary fiber glass production processes and products.
- Manager must be technically conversant in these technologies and be able to provide technical support and perform complex technical work.
